Sonoma Access was designed, as a first step, to bring together information on all of the public, private and non-profit transportation options available in Sonoma County.

It is the beginning step to help solve a complex, often challenging problem:

  • What is the best way to network together all of the transportation providers in Sonoma County so that the folks who need to go anywhere in Sonoma County can find the best Ways to Go?
  • How can we use technology to build a comprehensive, easy to use transportation resource?

Santa Rosa Transit staff took the lead and with a New Freedom grant from the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA), brought together key Sonoma County Organizations to create a robust One-Call, One-Click transportation resource. Now anyone in Sonoma County can call 211 and ask for “transportation information” or click here to find the transportation option that works best for their situation.

Sonoma Access informs residents on the types of transportation services available:

  • Local and Regional Bus Service
  • Local and Regional Paratransit Service
  • Volunteer Driver Programs
  • Non-profit Agency Transportation Options
  • Private businesses that provide Transportation Options
  • Transportation Programs for Veterans
  • Travel Training Programs that teach anyone how to ride the bus

If you are provider of transportation services in Sonoma County, and would like to be part of this resource, we’d love to hear from you.

Note: Although there are numerous taxi companies in Sonoma County, they are not regulated which is why they aren’t included here. If you own or operate a taxi company and would like to offer your services through Sonoma Access, we can help you understand the process to become federally regulated.
